Dutch painter Had Verheijen

Dutch painter Had Verheijen has his workshop in the Limburg County village Veulen near Venray. Besides painting his passions are music, fly fishing, animals, sports and nature. This fully comes back in his works and in the Fly Fishing scene Had has a good reputation not only about fishing but also about his great painting skills. Had Verheijen is one of the best pedal steelguitar players in the world and can be mentioned in one breath with Maurice Anderson and ‘Sneeky’ Pete Kleinow. As member of Tulsa and Canyon Drive Band he received international recognition.

Had was born and raised in the Brabant Peel village Neerkant, a rich source for some famous Dutch music groups like CCC Inc, Down Side and Canyon Drive Band. At young age Had started painting and improved his classic painting skills during a 6 year course at the ‘Romantic School’ of Peter Hillen in Veldhoven. This was imperative to develop an own style and technique.

The creativity drive, the willingness of experimenting and search for new directions in art made Had’s style more frivol and soigné. This encouraged him start using pallets, knives and various additional materials to develop his present style he calls NEW VISION, NEW ART.
